The Main Entrance is closed due to construction of a new GUARDHOUSE at the Main Gate. SPACEBANK RULES CHANGE
Thursday, January 26, 2012-- Please be aware that you must now pay your maintenance fees in advance prior to spacebanking future years! Fees must be paid in advance in order for your spacebank to be approved by the management company. For example, if you wish to spacebank your 2012 week at Petit Crest, your maintenance fees for 2012 must be paid in advance to the management company, RAL Resort Property Management. If you have any questions, please call the Petit Crest Resort office at 706-268-3600. Also be sure your names are the same on your RCI or spacebank company account as they are on the deed you have with Petit Crest -- otherwise, your spacebank may not be approved! -- (full text)

SALE OF 607, 608, 609
Thursday, January 26, 2012-- The majority of Petit Crest owners have voted and approved the sale of Villas 607, 608, and 609. The attorneys have the paperwork and we are proceeding with the sale of 607 first. Petit Crest has started transferring those owners in 607 to their new Villa. You will be notified once these transactions start taking place. Unfortunately, the real estate market here in Big Canoe is slow, as it is in most places. We have had some interest in these Villas, and hope to have a sales contract soon! 607 IS AVAILABLE FOR RENTAL ON A MONTH BY MONTH BASIS -- so if you know anyone that wants to experience the best of mountain living in North Georgia, or if you want to try it yourself, give us a call! Thursday, January 26, 2012-- If you have never visited Petit Crest Villas at Big Canoe, it is important that you print the directions and information we send you and bring it with you.You can also print the maps and directions directly from this website, too. AAA, Mapquest, and most GPS systems do not work for finding us! Bluegreen's website uses a search engine that does NOT properly locate us -- we urge you to follow our directions, and NOT rely on navigational devices or Mapquest. We are in a very beautiful mountainous setting of over 8,000 acres. There are no physical addresses inside the community, since mail is not delivered to individual mail boxes. Everyone has a central location to pick up mail. Construction of a new MAIN ENTRY GUARD HOUSE began in December, 2011. For the next several months, everybody without a Big Canoe transponder will have to enter and exit Big Canoe through the NORTH GATE. Please refer to the map available on this website if you are not sure where the North Gate is located (it's just 2.5 miles north of the Main Gate on Steve Tate Hwy). We are located just off Highway 53, between the towns of Jasper, GA and Dawsonville, GA. Marble Hill is the closest town, having also the closest grocery store and gas station. Thursday, January 26, 2012-- The office at Petit Crest continues to receive calls from owners concerning companies that have contacted them about reselling or buying their week. Our best advice to you is to NEVER pay any upfront fees to sell your timeshare. These companies typically require an upfront advertising, closing fee, or appraisal fee. In most cases, these companies do not end up selling or buying the owner's week and there are no refunds of the fees you have paid them. The scammers often refer to this as a "timeshare transfer", "rescue", "relief",or "postcard company". Before entering into any such agreement for selling or transferring your timeshare, please VERIFY, VERIFY, VERIFY -- company's information, phone number and real estate license numbers. Be skeptical of all calls, mail or e-mails from companies you do not know. Even some attorneys are preying on timeshare owners by telling them they can retrieve some of the money they have paid to scammers! But beware -- that is a SCAM too! GREAT PLACES TO EAT CLOSE BY!
Thursday, January 26, 2012-- Enjoy a festive meal at Amicalola Falls State Park Restaurant atop one of the tallest waterfalls in the Southeast -- great prices and great views at the same time! The Appalachia Grill, just outside the North Gate of Big Canoe, will also be serving dinner and a great Sunday brunch menu season (closed Mondays) -- call for reservations at 770-893-3389. Fuego, the Mexican restaurant near the North Gate, offers a fantastic Mexican menu at reasonable prices. They are open for lunch and dinner. They also have a bar with great margaritas, or so I have heard!
